These bronze-finished aluminum chimes play the romantic notes of the Aeolian mode, recalling the Tudor era of England. Company founder Garry Kvistad has developed an advanced method of tuning used on every Woodstock chime: each tube is analyzed digitally with a microphone under the tube measuring the frequency, and cutters are instructed to remove just the right amount of material to produce the most precise tuning possible. A Neighborhood Icon
The Chime is so gentle and distinctive that it has actually charmed people up from the front drive to see what they were hearing----the sound is soft and soothing and can be experienced inside much of the house without being too sharp or harsh---I have ordered 4 more for house warming gifts.

Such a Big Sound from Such a Compact Set of Chimes
The Tudor Rose Chimes from Woodstock Percussion are a great addition to any outdoor decor. As soon as you unpack them from the box, you'll be impressed with their appearance - the wood is a beautifully natural cherry and the chimes themselves are a deep reddish bronze. Each piece of the set feels very sturdy as well.

But it doesn't really show off until you hear it. The sound is astounding full, especially given its compact size. The eight different tones come together to make a peaceful stream of sound rather than the dissonant clang-clang-clang of lesser chimes. I had read about the meticulous tuning process in the product description but figured that a chime was a chime - these proved me wrong within a few minutes of hanging them.

I initially purchased these as a gift, but have since gotten a set for my own home. The Woodstock website has recommendations on combining different chimes for maximum harmony - at Amazon's low prices, I'm sure to purchase more sets soon.
